For the fourth quarterly adjustment, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority raised the electricity tariff on Friday by Rs1.75 per unit. The rise will show up in bills for September, October, and November.
The federal government has received the authority’s decision. August will mark the completion of the third quarter adjustment for the fiscal year 2023–24, which will result in a per unit rise of Rs0.93. As part of the quarterly adjustment, an extra Rs0.82 will be included for September invoices.
In a related decision, NEPRA also decided to lower the monthly fuel price adjustment for July by Rs0.37 per unit. On August 28, a hearing was held to discuss this request.
