The president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, has sharply attacked the policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the region. Amit Shah, a member of the BJP, was challenged on his assertions by Abdullah, who also voiced concerns about the state of affairs in the area.
Despite the BJP’s claims that terrorism would cease with the repeal of Article 370, Abdullah said that it is still a major problem in Jammu and Kashmir. He implied that as long as the BJP holds onto power, terrorism might continue.
Speaking out against the BJP’s proposed India, the leader of the National Conference declared, “We are against the India that the Modi government wants to create.” He pledged to oppose the BJP’s regional policies.
