SWAT: On Sunday, a “remote-controlled bomb explosion” that targeted a police van escorting a convoy of foreign envoys leaving Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district for Malam Jabba resulted in the death of at least one police officer and the injuries of four others.
District Police Officer (DPO) Zahidullah Khan verified the blast, claiming that four officers were hurt and one officer lost his life as a result of the incident, which was directed towards a group of foreign diplomats.
11 foreign diplomats were traveling in a convoy led by the impacted mobile van, according to DPO Khan. Burhan, a police officer, was among the four wounded officers, one of them was a sub-inspector.
Following the incident, police officials told the media that all envoys were safe and had been relocated to Islamabad.
