Despite his excellent performances, fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has spoken out over his omission from the national team.
In a recent interview, Abbas disclosed that only the captain and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had voiced concerns about his bowling speed, following his 2021 dismissal.
“It was mentioned that my pace had dropped,” Abbas remembered. I answered by saying that I had come to Lahore from Sialkot especially to train at the National Cricket Academy. I’ve been disciplined and have never gone faster than 140 km/h. I’ve been a seam bowler my entire life, and I’ve never slowed down.”
The 34-year-old cricket player noted that it appeared someone had created a plan after getting those calls.
