Amidst an ongoing dispute between the governor’s office and the provincial government on the appointment of vice chancellors in multiple universities within the province, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has recommended the governor to thoroughly review the Constitution.
The education minister attacked Governor Sardar Salim Haider’s advisory committee in a TV interview, saying they had embarrassed him with their bad counsel. To prevent more issues, he pleaded with the governor to replace his advisory group right away.
Rana Sikandar remarked, “The governor was placed in this position because of misguided advice,” and that the governor’s criticisms of the selections were baseless.
