On September 21, Muhammad Kamran Ashiq’s body was discovered early by the station’s duty police officer.
According to the authorities, the cause of his death is still being looked into.
Ashiq was held on September 18, according to a statement from the police, for resisting arrest following an alleged harassment incident for which no lawsuit had been filed.
They claimed that Ashiq, who had been hurt, had been given a prison sentence of many months for eluding police and damaging foreign property later that day.
After getting into a fight with other inmates, he was transferred to a different detention location without video surveillance while he was being kept at the police station until he was sent to prison, according to the police.
