KARACHI: Pakistani squash players advanced to the quarterfinals of the $15,000 Mile High 360 Squash Classic in Denver thanks to impressive performances. Ashab Irfan, Muhammad Asim Khan, and Noor Zaman are the three players that have guaranteed themselves a position in the final eight.
Veer Chotrani of India put up a fierce fight, but Asim prevailed in four games with scores of 11-9, 12-10, 6-11, and 11-6. He showed remarkable tenacity, particularly in the opening two games, defeating Chotrani in close sets to seal the victory.
Ashab defeated American Dillon Huang 3-1 after putting up a great performance. In the second game, he suffered a little setback but recovered to win 11-6, 7-11, 11-4, and 11-3.
