The World Culture Festival’s fifteenth day broke out in giggles on Thursday when “Taleem-e-Balighan 2.0” returned to the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) in Karachi.
Rerun at the ACP, this contemporary take on the classic 1956 satire by Khawaja Moinuddin, which examines society via the prism of adult education, delighted the crowd with its sardonic humor.
Although the play has been adapted for modern audiences, it nonetheless emphasizes how little has changed since it was first performed, highlighting enduring social problems.
The show’s razor-sharp wit and unstoppable comic energy left an energized crowd in stitches. Viewers of today were moved by the humorous genius that stuck to the original.
