Chief Justice Aalia Neelum of the Lahore High Court postponed her verdict on Thursday over the maintainability of a plea that asked for instructions to be given to the relevant authorities so that they might release the government’s “constitutional package” in order to get public feedback.
Through Barrister Rida Hosain, Khawar Mumtaz and Neelam Hussain filed the petition. They asked the court to order the government to stop presenting it in Parliament prior to public comment period and to provide a report with comments from the public.
It is important to note that the Registrar’s Office objected, stating that the matter in question is outside the purview of the LHC.
Additional Attorney General Mirza Nasar Ahmed asked the court to dismiss the petition at the beginning of the proceedings on the grounds that it was “non-maintainable.”
