Clashes between students and police broke out during a protest against the alleged rape of a college girl in Lahore, injuring at least 28 people.
After the altercation, first assistance was administered to 28, including 24 students and 4 police officers, according to Rescue 1122 authorities. The event happened in the Gulberg neighborhood of Lahore, near a private institution.
After information about the student’s alleged rape became viral on social media, a campus security guard was recently taken into custody.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran of Lahore announced today at a press conference that they were looking into the reported rape of a student.
The policeman claimed to have visited the Gulberg campus of the private college and interrogated everyone there.
