RAWALPINDI: Citing security concerns, sources told Geo News on Monday that the Punjab government has again extended the prohibition on contacts with inmates at the Adiala jail, this time indefinitely.
The sources stated that until further directive, the prohibition will be in effect. According to the jail administration, the Punjab government ordered the ban to be extended.
Previously, from October 4 to October 18, the provincial administration forbade inmates from receiving visitors. The prohibition was then extended by an additional two days.
This prohibition applies to all prisoners, even though it appears to have been prolonged because of security concerns for prominent political detainees such as Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Bushra Bibi, and senior PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
