PANJGUR: According to provincial government Shahid Rind on Tuesday, unidentified gunmen opened fire on residents at the location of a dam in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, killing at least five people and wounding two.
According to the official, the villagers were in charge of maintaining the dam.
According to the district administration, the attack took place in the Paroom region, and Levies officials blamed armed men riding motorcycles for the shooting incident.
The attack occurs about a month after seven laborers from various parts of Punjab were shot and killed in the district by unidentified attackers.
Following the surge in terror incidents in recent years, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the southwestern province—the largest by area in the nation—have been the targets of terrorist strikes.
