On Tuesday, the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) hosted an interactive performance by foreign artists, captivating the audience on the 34th day of the ongoing World Culture Festival.
The interactive, musical production “Shame on You” by the Arnold & Komarov Travelling Theatre from Switzerland was directed by Ilja Komarov and Trixa Arnold.
The performance explored the influence of shame on both individuals and societies, delving into the complicated emotion.
Through a combination of languages and original songs, it critically examined themes such as class, race, religion, and body politics while showcasing experiences from Pakistan and Europe. It was developed as a hybrid of verbatim theatre and documentary performance.
At 8 p.m., the 90-minute drama was performed in both Urdu and English at ACP’s Ahmed Shah Building.
