QUETTA: The Balochistan Home Department has asked the Ministry of Interior to halt mobile phone service in the Sibi and Kachhi districts from November 13 to 14, in anticipation of the upcoming by-election in the PB-8 constituency.
According to a letter from the home department to the interior ministry, the action is intended to preserve law and order throughout the election season.
The Balochistan Home Department is taking precautions to guarantee a safe and orderly voting procedure for the PB-8 by-election, which is set for November 14.
The agency has suggested a temporary closure of PTCL services in addition to the suspension of mobile services.
Whether the Ministry of Interior will implement the suggestions has not yet been confirmed.
