At Adelaide Oval on Friday, Pakistan’s opening duo of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, as well as bowler Haris Rauf, outperformed Australia to lead their team to win in the second ODI of the three-match series.
With the help of Ayub’s 82, Shafique’s undefeated 64, and Rauf’s five wicket haul, Pakistan was able to match Australia at home for the first time since 2017 and tie the series 1-1.
With just one wicket lost and 141 balls left, Pakistan easily batted down the small 164-run mark.
After a long 137-run stand, openers Saim and Abdullah gave the visitors a spectacular start to the run chase.
Only 18 runs separated Saim, the stand’s main attacker, from a well-earned first half-century.
