Every winter, the nation’s most populated province experiences a smog problem, but in recent years, air pollution has gotten worse due to low-grade diesel emissions, smoke from unlawful stubble burning on fields, and cold air that traps dust.
In Lahore, where the air quality has declined over the previous month, the air quality index (AQI) was reported at a “hazardous” 766 today.
According to the Swiss group’s real-time air quality monitor, the most damaging fine particulate matter in the metropolis is PM2.5.
