The Punjab government and other ministries’ efforts to combat the region’s haze were praised by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday.
During a hearing on smog control petitions, Justice Shahid Karim praised the combined efforts of all parties concerned and acknowledged the better weather.
Justice Shahid Karim said, “We should recognize the hard work of all officers, but all credit is being given to the wind direction.” Credit should be given to the teams on the ground, the Punjab advocate general said, adding that after identifying the smoke-emitting vehicles using Safe City cameras, action is being taken against them.
The judge added that housing societies will no longer be constructed as master plans for various cities were being prepared.
