For customers who are unhappy with their current feed, Instagram, the well-known photo-sharing website owned by Meta, has included a tool that allows users to reset their content recommendations.
Instagram revealed the tweak in a blog post on Tuesday with the goal of giving users more control over the algorithm that determines how they interact with the app.
Users can turn on the reset feature and clear the algorithm’s memory of their previous interactions by going to the content preferences section of Instagram’s settings. The user can then begin receiving new, tailored information based on their updated interests as the system “forgets” all it knows about them.
