In the little community of Dixville Notch, which became the first spot to announce primary results, all six voters supported former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley in the first round of the GOP primary in New Hampshire.
In response to the vote, Haley released a statement that read, “A great start to a great day in New Hampshire.” “I’m grateful, Dixville Notch!”
According to CNN, voters in Dixville Notch have been casting ballots at midnight since 1960.
Prior to the state’s crucial 2024 primary match, Haley and fellow Republican contender Donald Trump made their last pleas to New Hampshire voters on Monday. As a result, the first votes were cast.
However, due to a disagreement within the party regarding the primary’s date, President Joe Biden will not be listed on the New Hampshire ballot. He is running as a write-in candidate in a state campaign.
For the first time this year, both Republicans and Democrats are running for office; yet, in New Hampshire, only one party will give delegates to presidential candidates.
Trump is looking for a strong win in a state where his former UN ambassador has focused her efforts to undermine the former president, following his decisive victory in Iowa.
In New Hampshire, 22 delegates are up for grabs.
After polls close at 7 p.m. ET, results from the remaining areas of New Hampshire will begin to come in.
