According to Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, most PTI leaders wanted the planned November 24 demonstration by the former ruling party in Islamabad to be called off.
His comments came amid the impending confrontation, with the PTI remaining steadfast in its strategy for the “do-or-die” demonstration and the government prepared to stop any demonstrators’ effort to reach the federal capital.
“I can name those PTI leaders who wanted the sit-in to be cancelled,” the defense minister told reporters.
He stated that the government’s action plan was developed in response to the former ruling party’s rallies on November 24.
The PTI leadership was cautioned by the minister not to bring armed organizations to the nation’s capital.
