Following contact between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the chairman of the main opposition party, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, negotiations between the federal government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came to a standstill ahead of the latter’s “do-or-die” demonstration on November 24.
Speaking on the news show “Pakistan,” Gohar said that he had spoken with the interior minister but that no discussion had taken place about delaying its statewide demonstration, which the party referred to as a “final call.”
Additionally, he disputed that during their conversation, the PTI leadership promised Naqvi a definitive answer.
Gohar said that the ruling was “not final” because the PTI was not heard in the Islamabad High Court’s ruling on public meetings in the federal capital.
