During an intelligence-based operation near Chakri, Rawalpindi, three terrorists were killed and two fled during a fierce battle with Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) troops. The prompt action of the security forces prevented a serious act of sabotage in Rawalpindi.
According to a CTD spokeswoman, the militants opened fire on the CTD team during the operation, but the Punjab police CTD launched an IBO to apprehend the terrorists. According to the spokesperson, members of their own organization shot and killed the terrorists.
The spokesperson stated that after cordoning off the region near Chakri, the forces began a search operation to find the fugitives. “Explosive material, suicide vests, safety fuse wires, rifles, IEDs, and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the terrorists,” the spokesperson added.
