Due to obstructions caused by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s “do-or-die” protest, academic sessions at both public and private universities have been suspended for an additional day in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Following the PTI demonstrators’ entry into the federal capital, which is already defended by shipping containers and multiple layers of police and paramilitary security, this development occurred.
In light of the state of law and order, the Islamabad government formally announced on Monday that all public and private educational institutions will close on Tuesday, or tomorrow.
Following this statement, Rawalpindi announced that academic activities would be halted for a second day as well.
