A new requirement for employment visas from Pakistan has been put into place by the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Bureau of Immigration.
In addition to their work visa, applicants for UAE work visas would now need to provide a police character certificate, according to Adnan Paracha, vice chairman of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA).
The new requirement, according to Paracha, comes after reports of Pakistani nationals begging and participating in other illegal activities in the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, he mentioned that the UAE has increased the number of Pakistani cities that are prohibited from obtaining a visit visa from 24 to 30.
Additionally, he brought attention to the continued challenges in acquiring UAE work visas, which have previously stopped more than 100,000 Pakistanis from finding employment there.
