Westminster Hall, a secondary debating chamber where such petitions are discussed, has set a debate for January 6.
It has quickly surpassed the 100,000 signatures needed for a discussion to occur, making it the third most popular e-petition since 2010.
During Prime Minister’s Questions, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch used it to make fun of Sir Keir Starmer, but it won’t result in another election.
Following Labour’s first budget since 2010, Badenoch claimed it revealed “two million people asking him to go” as the two parties argued over the government’s tax increases.
The petition accuses Labour of breaking its pre-election pledges and was established by a West Midlands publican who voted Conservative in the general election held in July.
