KURRAM: On the ninth day of continuous tribal skirmishes, police reported Friday that firing events in various parts of District Kurram have resulted in 12 further fatalities and 17 injuries.
Violence continues despite a recent ceasefire agreement, with 168 people injured and 122 dead overall.
The local government reports that daily life and business operations are being disrupted by the main Peshawar-Parachinar highway, which has been closed for the ninth day in a row.
The road closure has also stopped trade at the Kharlachi border with Afghanistan, according to Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud, which has worsened the region’s economic impact.
Additionally, locals are facing significant challenges as a result of the halted internet and mobile phone services owing to the heated circumstances, which limits their access.
