The Saturday holiday will no longer be observed in Islamabad’s educational institutions from November 30 to February 1, 2025, according to a Friday announcement from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
A notification, which did not mention the PTI’s three-day protest, said that all educational institutions under the FDE’s jurisdiction will observe Saturday as a working day in order to make up for the academic losses brought on by their frequent closures.
It concluded that all educational institutions must adhere to the six working days with the officially announced times.
The heads of the Islamabad model schools and colleges were the recipients of the notification.
This decision was made following three days in which educational institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad were closed due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests in the nation’s capital.
