According to a report by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a US civil rights organization, viewers who browse topics like technology or celebrities are even shown extremist channels using the “similar channels” option that was launched last year.
A professor also demonstrated to Panorama how he was able to locate someone on Telegram in a matter of seconds who was willing to pay £850 to ship an Uzi submachine gun to the UK.
As per Telegram, users are “only presented with content they have chosen to engage with,” and millions of damaging pieces of content are eliminated every day.
