According to Palestinian neighbors, Israeli settlers set fire to a mosque in the occupied West Bank on Friday. The building’s front was spray-painted with Hebrew phrases such as “Death to Arabs,” “Revenge,” and others.
The gateway to the Muslim holy place in the village of Marda in the northern West Bank had black fire scars on it. Before it could spread much farther, the fire was extinguished.
According to Israeli police, they were gathering evidence and testimonies at the location.
The leader of the Marda village council, Nasfat al-Khufash, stated: “A group of settlers set fire to Bir al-Walideen mosque on Friday, causing Marda to awaken to a systematic terror attack.”
He declared, “These attacks by settler groups are systematic and ongoing.”
