With the change of the seasons, the general public is afflicted with a number of illnesses, from the common cold to influenza, etc.

The ten steps that help avoid these different winter ailments are listed below.

  1. Frequently wash or sanitize your hands
Hand washing should be done frequently and for at least 20 seconds. When water is scarce, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers sparingly.
  2. Steer clear of unhealthy people
Remain away from sick individuals to reduce the risk of catching viruses from them.
  3. Get enough sleep and increase your exercise.
Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night and engage in frequent exercise.
  4. Consume a balanced diet
Consume a diet that is well-balanced to ensure a robust immune system.
  5. Don’t touch your face.
  6. Avoid touching sensitive parts of your face including your mouth, nose, and eyes.
  7. Give up smoking
Avoid smoking as it lowers immunity, which makes it more likely that you may get a cold or another respiratory illness.
  8. Preserve hygienic conditions at home
Periodically clean and sterilize surfaces and areas that are often utilized.
  9. Continue to drink water
Water should be used in moderation, and herbal teas can support the body’s immune system in warding off common illnesses.
  10. Obtain a vaccination
Obtain a yearly flu shot and speak with your physician about other effective vaccination options.
  11. Put on a face mask
In densely populated areas, wear face masks to prevent the spread of germs. Additionally, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief.
