LONDON: To improve ties with the South Asian language community, the US State Department has designated a proficient speaker of Hindi and Urdu as a spokeswoman in London.
Margaret MacLeod has a remarkable vocabulary and speaks Hindi and Urdu with ease. She also worked as a diplomat in India and Pakistan, where she developed her understanding of these nations.
Speaking in excellent Urdu, MacLeod expressed her passion about how her time in Pakistan and the people she made there had assisted her in learning both literal and colloquial Urdu during a visit to the Geo News London office.
Since 2010, MacLeod has been stationed in Pakistan, where she has had the opportunity to visit numerous cities, concentrating on the country’s historically significant landmarks.
