Chewie, Kelly Ripa’s beloved family pet, passed away earlier this month, and she is still in mourning.
The devastating news was originally revealed by Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, on their morning show, Live with Kelly and Mark, last week.
As they discussed an article concerning proof of life beyond death during Wednesday’s program, Ripa broke down in tears as they thought back on the passing of their old friend.
Later that day, the mother of three posted a heartfelt homage to the cherished Shih Tzu on Instagram.
“I’ve been avoiding posting this because it somehow makes it real, and I’m not quite ready to let go,” she wrote in the caption of a video montage. We have been devastated by the loss of our darling Chewie.
