LANDIKOTAL/JAMRUD: Due to continuing tensions between the two nations, the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Torkham remained closed on Sunday for the second day in a row, according to The News.
Sources claim that because of the shutdown, trade has stopped and pedestrian traffic has been suspended, posing serious challenges for both enterprises and travelers.
Hundreds of travelers, including women and children, were left trapped on the first day of the closure while they awaited permission to enter the border. Many were compelled to spend the night at the border in unknowable conditions since there was no clear indication of when the crossing would reopen.
Passengers waited for permission to travel in large numbers outside the Torkham immigration center. Nevertheless, no notifications regarding the border’s reopening have been made.
