Home Minister G Parameshwara stated on Tuesday that an unnamed man was lynched by a mob in the southern Indian state of Karnataka for reportedly yelling “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans during a local cricket match.
The horrifying incident happened on April 27 in the vicinity of the Bhatra Kallurti Temple in the Kudupu district, according to an Indian media report.
“The victim’s identity is still unknown, and we don’t yet know if he was a local or from outside the state,” Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwara said, adding that the matter was being seriously investigated.
According to Parameshwara, who cited early investigations, the mob attack was started by the man’s reported shouting of slogans during the game.
