With this nomination, Naqvi becomes one of the most honored Pakistani directors in Emmy history, having received four nominations overall.
For The Accused: Damned or Devoted?, Naqvi became the first Pakistani to receive a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2023 for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking.
In 2008, he won the coveted Television Academy Award for his Showtime film Shame, making him the first Pakistani to do so.
