The distribution of Rs5,000 per acre under the wheat support price program to 600,000 farmers via the Kisan Card has been approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Furthermore, the same subsidy amount per acre will be given to those without a Kisan Card.

The decision was made at a special meeting in Lahore, which was presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. During the discussion, topics such as the solarization of agricultural tube wells and the methods for implementing the wheat support program were covered. Proposals to involve land contractors in the subsidy program in addition to landowners were also discussed during the conference.

50% of the applications received under the wheat support program have already been validated, CM Maryam was informed. She gave her approval for farmers to receive Rs5,000 per acre of support even if they do not have Kisan Cards.
