Amtrak stated Tuesday that while train service has been restored on one track in and out of Baltimore, delays of roughly 30 minutes are anticipated along the Northeast Corridor throughout the day.
“The fire department decided not to send first responders in and instead fight the fire mostly from outside as the fire in the vacant multi-story warehouse filled with mattresses jumped from four alarms to seven,” Wallace added.
He stated, “I was very adamant that I was not putting my people inside.” There have been no reports of injuries, the chief said.
With several levels above and below ground and a sizable water tower on top, officials are now worried about the building’s stability, Wallace added.
