DUBAI: US President Donald Trump said Thursday that Tehran has “sort of” accepted the conditions of a nuclear agreement that the US was extremely close to negotiating with Iran.
Trump stated during a Gulf tour, “We’re in very serious negotiations with Iran for long-term peace,” according to an AFP shared pool report.
“We’re getting close to maybe doing a deal without having to do this… there (are) two steps to doing this, there is a very, very nice step and there is the violent step, but I don’t want to do it the second way,” he stated.
There are still gaps in the negotiations with the United States, according to an Iranian source with knowledge of the discussions.
