Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister, stated on Thursday that Pakistan never asked for a ceasefire during the most recent battle.
Speaking to the upper chamber, he gave a thorough account of the events leading up to the escalation of hostilities with India, along with the reasoning behind them. According to Dar, US Senator Marco Rubio made the initial call on May 10 at 8:15 a.m., stating that India was prepared to respect a ceasefire. I informed him that we are prepared for a ceasefire if India is. He insisted that after talks, the ceasefire was initially extended till May 12, then to May 14, and now to May 18.
“The bravery and valor of our armed forces allowed us to achieve victory,” Dar stated.
