ISLAMABAD: Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, has stated that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan is an ongoing operation and that the directors of general military operations (DGMOs) on both sides communicate frequently in order to de-escalate and demobilize.
The DGMOs had discussed the matter on May 10, 12, and 14, and were to meet again on May 18, according to Dar, who spoke on News’ “Pakistan” show on Sunday. He was fairly certain the DGMOs would have re-engaged.
According to the foreign minister, S Jaishankar, his Indian colleague, had not formally notified Pakistan before the military attacks.
Earlier this week, Jaishankar told reporters that India had made it clear to Pakistan that the strikes were “targeted solely at terrorist infrastructure, not military installations.”
