Just one day before U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold crucial ceasefire talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia launched the biggest drone attack on Ukraine since the start of its full-scale invasion in 2022 on Sunday, killing at least one civilian and injuring multiple others.
Moscow launched a record 273 drones overnight, targeting many Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kyiv and the surrounding areas, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Earlier this year, in February, the previous record for a single-day drone barrage was achieved.
Houses in the Obukhiv area, west of Kyiv, were reduced to rubble, and locals spoke of the terrifying sound of drones flying overhead. One of the casualties was a lady, age 28.
