India’s decision to withdraw from the forthcoming Asia Cup and the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, two important competitions run by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), was denied by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday.
“Since this morning, it has come to our awareness regarding various press reports that the BCCI has opted not to participate in the Asia Cup and the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, both of which are ACC events. As of right present, such reports are untrue,” BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told ANI.
According to Indian media, he went on to clarify that the BCCI has not even talked about or taken any action in relation to the forthcoming ACC events.
