According to Ukraine’s National Guard, a Russian missile strike on a training exercise in the Sumy border region of Ukraine has killed six personnel and injured over ten more.
A video purporting to depict an Iskander missile attack on a training camp was previously released by Russia’s defense ministry, and the state news agency Tass said that up to 70 people had been killed.
Ukraine began occupying a portion of Russia’s neighboring Kursk area months ago after the Sumy region was repeatedly bombarded.
Although some have voiced dissatisfaction about the extent of military losses, the Ukrainian military claimed that the offensive’s goal was to assist in establishing a buffer zone to safeguard Sumy.
