As part of a crackdown on international human trafficking rings damaging Pakistan’s reputation, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday that Pakistanis deported from different countries for various reasons will face harsh measures, including as passport cancellation and police prosecutions.
In Islamabad, a high-level meeting led by Naqvi decided to apply the whip on returning deportees.
Following the deportation of more than 5,000 Pakistani beggars in the previous 16 months, Saudi Arabia took this action.
