On Saturday, a bus carrying students and their instructors went down in western Colombia, killing at least ten people and wounding eleven more, according to the institution.
According to a preliminary investigation, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle while transporting 26 people from Tolima to Quindio.
According to police commander Luis Fernando Atuesta, the bus crashed into the barrier on the side of the Helicoil Bridge in the Quindio district, throwing several people from it.
Investigations are being conducted to “establish the conditions of this unfortunate accident,” the officer stated, adding that “a number of passengers were ejected and fell into the abyss.”
