CAMBRIDGE: President Donald Trump’s attempt to block Harvard University from admitting overseas students has been thwarted by a US court.
According to the judge, international students should be safeguarded during the ongoing legal battle. Trump is still putting pressure on prestigious universities over what he claims is political prejudice.
On Thursday, thousands of Harvard students celebrated their graduation wearing gowns with crimson trims.
Trump’s campaign against prestigious US colleges has focused on Harvard, which he has threatened with funding freezes for alleged liberal bias and anti-Semitism.
While the two parties debate whether Trump’s stance is legal, Judge Allison Burroughs stated that she will later issue a preliminary injunction that “gives some protection” to international students.
