The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that over 40 people were killed in “another appalling attack” on a hospital in Sudan, many of them children and medical professionals.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on X on Tuesday, “We cannot say this louder,” “attacks on health must stop everywhere!”
Al-Mujlad Hospital, which is situated in West Kordofan state near one of the frontlines where Sudan’s warring sides are engaged in combat in the conflict, which is currently in its third year, was hit on Saturday.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) blames its opponents the Sudanese army for attacking the hospital, as do two prominent civil society groups, but the army itself has yet to comment on the allegation.
