Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan, the sons of imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan, met Richard Grenell, an aide to US President Donald Trump, on Wednesday before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protested for the party founder’s release from prison.
Since his removal from office in April 2022 due to the opposition’s no-trust motion, the 71-year-old cricket player-turned-politician has been imprisoned since August 2023 after being charged with several offenses ranging from terrorism to corruption.
In May, Kasim publicly raised awareness to their father’s incarceration for the first time. In June, he took to X to voice his worries about Imran’s incarceration.
“My father, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has now been incarcerated for more than 700 days,” he said.
