ISLAMABAD Ten more people died on Wednesday, bringing the total number of fatalities from Pakistan’s torrential monsoon rains to 252, according to data from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
With 139 fatalities and 477 injuries, Punjab is still the most severely affected province. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are next with 60 and 24 fatalities, respectively. The deaths also include two in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, six in Islamabad, five in Gilgit-Baltistan, and sixteen in Balochistan.
House collapses account for 143 fatalities, with flash floods (41), drownings (36), lightning strikes (13), electrocution (12), and landslides (4) following closely behind.
