According to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), traveled to China for an official visit and held a number of high-level meetings with the goal of strengthening the strategic alliance between Beijing and Islamabad.
The military’s media wing claims that the COAS met with top Chinese military and political figures during his visit to Beijing, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Vice President Han Zheng.
According to the ISPR, discussions centered on cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), changing global dynamics, and regional security.
